[When his eyes flick up, the bright blue practically glowing against the cold, he can't help but hold back a chuckle as he sees her. Subtelty was obviously not in her vocabulary.
Something he doesn't entirely mind.
His arms raise from his knees, hands taking place there instead as he looks at her, eyes focused on the red coat. ]
I feel underdressed.
[It's a joke, mostly. How he arrived at that level with a Senator is beyond him, but...well, when breaking into a meeting is what gets someone interested in you, then caution's really thrown to the wind.
Although, his face drops at that, arms now folding.]
I've got a pretty good idea. He certainly wasted no time signing that execution paper for me.
( Honestly, she's surprised no one else has even considered questioning Orion's background with those eyes - they're arresting and startling and, most of all, belonging to the Primes. A few tests, a few well-placed questions and Shockwave fully expected to have results - positive ones. Funny, the rumored third son of Nominus had been hidden under their eyes the entire time and no one had suspected. Certainly not Sentinel and Zeta. )
Nonsense, you look fine. A bit drab, certainly, but I'm beginning to suspect that's just your way.
( Which she's perfectly okay with. )
Having your name on it would mean that he'd have to care who you were. And with Sentinel enforcing his demands like the incredibly ambitious son of Nominus that he is, he doesn't have to pretend. ( Overly ambitious indeed. Shockwave has suspicions on that front as well, but it too will take time. ) Still-- I've managed to save you, and that's the important part. It'd be a shame to see you go to waste, Orion.
[Most would have called it a trick of the light, or off by merely a shade. After all, there was only a rumor about a third son of Nominus, and anyone with a fraction close to 'Matrix Blue' as they called it, would try their hand at claiming that. Although, that didn't stop Shockwave from theorizing. Orion himself? He didn't believe it. For some more obvious reasons than others.
But he can't help but crack a smile.]
So I'm drab, now. At least I know the meaning of the word 'subtle'.
[Because fancy dress in the most populated park the city had for a secret meeting...not exactly what he expected in a rendezvous.]
I hope there were no regrets on that.
[Sacrificing a lot of the favors Shockwave had built up over the years over his impulse reaction carried a bit of guilt with it.]
Subtle ( Shockwave says, waving a hand in dismissal. ) is for people who'd rather go unnoticed. Me? I want to be known for two things - my beauty and my brains. I'm not going to settle for one of the skirt suit ensembles you see everyone else in the senate wearing.
( Her nose crinkles in distaste at the thought. Orion how could you suggest something as horrific as that? But his next comment brings her attention fully back to the matter of the head, and she shakes her head emphatically - currently blonde hair cascading down her shoulders when she does. )
None. You were worth it, are worth it.
( Her arm slides through his - fingers curling into the fabric of his coat while Shockwave beams at him. No, she didn't regret saving his life in the slightest. Not with the things she had planned for him. )
( Whatever response Shockwave has for that particular statement is cut off by the kiss and he loses all desire to even pretend that there's nothing he doesn't want to do but stand here and kiss Optimus. Four million years was a terribly long time to wait, even for their species, and while he doesn't put much stock into the human methods of measuring out time he wouldn't want to waste a second - even if it hardly mattered against their long lives.
A sound escapes him when he feels his back connect with the wall, so preoccupied with kissing that it had completely failed to register that they were moving. Surprised, yes, but not uncomfortable. The warmth and weight of Optimus is welcome, and he makes a pleased sound in the back of his throat when Optimus presses him further into the wall. Passion had always been something he thought he made his domain, but Optimus certainly made a claim to it just as much as he.
So he simply pulls him tighter, kisses him harder and more demanding. And when he finally breaks away, it's only to trail light kisses across the edge of Optimus' jaw. Well, that and to slide one hand against the place where Shockwave knew the Prime's chassis must open. There's no Matrix there, he knows that, but his modification is still there. )
[And that was something he could appreciate in the Senator. Someone who wasn't afraid to show off, to be herself. Confidence like that was hard to stay away from. It was such a refreshing trait, especially in the upper class.
Enough to be amused at her reaction. Putting a hand to his chin.
And then feeling that arm loop with his. He looks down at it a moment, seeing just how...nicely it fit there. How comfortable it felt.
[His push is never too much. He knows that Shockwave's something that he has to be somewhat gentle with, although gentle for Orion/Optimus is still quite strong. Blame it on the wanting, the yearning to hold Shockwave like this, since they'd become more acquainted with each other on that bench in the Memorial Park. All of it led up to this moment. And it was safe to say, now Optimus felt a little impatient.
The pleased sounds from Shockwave drive him further, keeping the kiss up as long as he's allowed to be there, every ounce of passion he had for the Senator being poured in. It makes his ventilation kick in, his engine slightly kick on. His spark flare.
He didn't show emotion as easily as the other bot did, but he certainly had enough of it built up for this. And when Shockwave pulls him close, meshing their lips more firmly together, he smiles. Not just a subtle one, but pure and wide. Happily.
It takes a lot for him to pull back, intending to pick up right where he started in a few seconds. His eyes trail Shockwave's hand, down to his chest, and right to that area. He knew exactly what the other bot wanted too.
There isn't even a response at first, plating begins to shift the moment Shockwave asks, sliding over each other clean and neatly, glass pulling up and out of the way.
Revealing that modification Shockwave had put in.]
( A sweeping gesture with her free hand for him to take the initiative. She was content to let him take her where he wanted - it wasn't as if she didn't trust him. Another grin, and an encouraging tug on that arm. )
[There's a soft smile as she sticks close--he wouldn't lie, he liked having someone hold onto him like this. Not just as a bodyguard, but as someone who genuinely wanted his company.
Someone as bright as her.
But he doesn't keep her waiting, starting to walk towards the center of the city, the sun starting to hit the horizon.]
( Optimus' had been the last and his best - Shockwave needed this one to count. If the others failed to allow for bonding with the Matrix, well, that was too bad, but Shockwave wouldn't spend sleepless nights prevented from falling into recharge with thoughts of it. But this one? Optimus'? No, this one needed to work. And he was saddened by the fact he never could appreciate it it properly when it had.
His fingers slip in, tracing the lines and the edges of the modification that made carrying the matrix possible - all rough edges when compared to the smooth metal Shockwave knows he installed. Age will do that to a mech, however, and if anything it simply makes him more attractive. But he pauses when his fingers hit the far wall - the simple plating that keeps the Matrix chamber separated from the spark. )
And this?
( A gentle tap, indicating that it's a question about what lies behind it. Oh, Shockwave already knows what his answer will be thanks to the confessions earlier, but it's one thing to say it and another thing to know it. )
( Shockwave keeps up with his strides, fingers digging into the fabric of his coat further. As if she was staking a claim. Which would be nonsense - she'd already claimed him the moment she saved his life as far as she was concerned. A bit-- pre-emptive, maybe, but that hardly mattered.
It also helped that he was quite attractive. )
Dai? ( She laughs, shaking her head again. ) Primus no, he'd have a heart attack if he knew. And I'd like to keep him around for a while longer, seeing as he's one of the few tolerable coworkers I have.
[When Shockwave's fingers slip in, feeling them gloss over the smooth metal, his eyes remain ever fixed on them, noticing just how worn he was, compared to the well protected, pristine interior that Shockwave had added on. It only showed as a symbol of what the war did. He tried to read Shockwave's opinion on it, seeing the gentle way he runs those fingers along the scratches and onto the smoother surface.
But then, he feels those same fingers against the back of it. He knew just what Shockwave was asking about--it was obvious.
His head tilts, to meet those eyes. There's no words needed as the plating shifts there, disappearing before Shockwave's very fingers, now illuminated by a bright, warm glow. Green in colour.]
Yours.
[His hand reaches up, taking the other's by the wrist and holding it there as his eyes close.]
[If only he'd known about such a claim. To him, sure, he noticed Shockwave's interest in him, and he felt confident in their friendship. But claim? Certainly not something he'd assume. Not from someone as prestigious as Shockwave.
Oblivious was...putting it lightly.
His smile widens, though, at her reaction. Despite his opinion of himself being off his radar, he certainly noticed her. How clear her laugh was, how she seemed to glow in the mellow winter night.
Things he could never admit to her, as much as he wanted to.]
( How much more obvious must one be, Orion? Still, it's not something Shockwave was willing to press at the moment; that time would come later when she was better armed to do battle against whatever was keeping him from realizing the fact she found him increasingly attractive.
Especially when he smiled like that. )
At least you can be certain that you've made an impression on him. ( Grinning back at him, before briefly resting her head against his arm and shoulder. ) Don't hold it against him too much, he's stubborn and set in his ways. Although I suppose I'm lucky his ways aren't completely at odds with mine.
[Unfortunately, blatant is the level of obvious, Shockwave. Chalk it up to social classes and knowing one's place of business before pleasure. Although, Trion would have simply said 'he's too stupid to realize'.
Even if he's smitten himself.
Even if he notices her head on his shoulder, and just how intimate that is.]
You're lucky to have someone like him in the Senate. With everyone else there I was worried. There can't be much interesting conversation with anyone else.
[He gets her to the sidewalk, leading her towards a bridge to walk across.]
( In this case, Shockwave's going to have to agree with Trion. Subtle isn't her strong point and Shockwave is more than willing to make that work for her, but even that doesn't seem to have any luck getting through to him.
It's only one flaw in an otherwise completely agreeable individual, however, so she won't get too bent out of shape over it. )
I am starved for conversations with people who have some sort of morals, it's true. ( A long suffering sigh! ) Fortunately for me, individuals like yourself exist in this world and I am not fully at my wit's end just yet.
( But his comment makes her grin and turn herself more into him even as they walk. )
[Maybe one day he'll see the obvious signs, but for now, he's just assuming Shockwave's favouring him for the Prime reason. Which is good enough for him, as long as he can continue to spend time with her.
A smile cracks across his lips as he continues to walk, eyes casting up.]
Flattery? Or truth?
[His head turns to look at her, blue eyes striking against the sunset that's now approaching.]
Tell me what's not interesting about a Senator saving a stranger's life for breaking into a government building.
[Optimus's head leans into that touch once more, like an anxious pup who knows its ears are going to be pet. He could be this comfortable around Shockwave, no one was there to stop them. But he seems too distracted, eyes cast up towards Shockwave himself.
Taking in how perfect he looks against the clear night sky.]
( The trust implicit in the gesture Optimus is making is astounding, and Shockwave can't help but feel honored and flattered by it - fingers bathed in the green light of his spark. He's seen it once before, of course, but it registered as a mild curiosity. Perhaps the modification had taken to Optimus better partly in thanks to the fact that he was a point one percenter, but Shockwave had long wondered if that specific designation meant as much as everyone assumed it did. He'd seen it come in so many variations, after all, including his own.
It isn't a particular blow to his ego that Megatron never considered him to be qualified to become a phase sixer, even now with the ability to feel. While revulsion comes with even the thought, a distant part of him reminds himself that it would have been illogical to turn a scientist into a warrior. Megatron had had his needs, and Shockwave had provided because an objection would not have been logical.
There was a time and a place for this train of thought, however, and it wasn't here - with Optimus' spark so close to his fingers. Instead Shockwave lets out a shuttering exvent and reaches forward to brush his fingertips against the escaping tendrils of energy. )
[It's everything he can give to Shockwave. Out of any part of a Cybertronian, the spark was the most important--the most cherished. It's your soul and your lifeline combined, and to show someone that is considered to be the utmost in trust.
Shockwave had earned that long ago. Now, it lay before him, open and free of guilt. He'd saved Shockwave, and was trusting the other bot with his life now. Without fear, he watches as Shockwave's fingers loop through the tendrils of energy, closing his eyes as he feels it to the core of his being.
Even just the emanating energy had such an affect on him, enough for that engine to purr slightly.]
And you were mine.
[His head leans forward, touching against the others' again.]
I hoped I'd see you again. You were what kept me fighting.
[His hand gestures up, towards his spark.]
This spark is still glowing because of you. And for that...I hope you accept it.
( That makes Shockwave laugh - fondly, of course. He couldn't imagine it being anything else, even if he's pleasantly surprised at the sudden comment. Well. )
And here I thought that would be better applied to the one who has a constellation named for him. ( It doesn't matter if it's not really named for Orion, it's the thought that counts. ) Although I can't find it within myself to say that you're wrong.
( HE'S KIND OF VAIN OKAY. YOU KNOW THAT GOING IN, OPTIMUS. )
