DON'T COUNT MISTAKES I LOST TRACK OF THEM

( He's in trouble. He's Rodimus, the younger of Nova's two candidates for Prime, and he is absolutely in trouble. It's not his fault. He just happened to be somewhere where trouble results, although okay - that part isn't new.

And he knows exactly how he got here in the first place, it's the same as it always is.

Orion frowns at him every time he leaves the Primal Basilica dressed in a cloak - knowing full well that he's going to go to those places that Nova finds unlawful and unruly. Sure, the other Prime in training had attempted to stop him before, to no avail. That makes something twinge in Rodimus because he likes Orion, he really does.

Then again, most people like Orion 'Super Cop, Future Prime' Pax. Because apparently some people like having a career that's pointless once you know you'll carry the Matrix. He guesses that has to do with Orion having spent some of his life from out of Nova's influence - maybe that made you like police work.

Not that Rodimus would know what that's like - Nova snatched him up two days after he was forged, as if he knew exactly where to find him. Must be a 'wisdom of the Matrix' thing. Find your replacements before someone else does and what not. But it boiled down to the fact that he'd never really got to know or experience life outside the basilica walls and for every time Nova told him he shouldn't or couldn't go out - he did.

Which is how he ends up standing over someone he punched into a wall - thanks Galvatron and Cyclonus for teaching him that one - inadvertently starting a bar fight that he is determined to win. Rodimus is pretty sure that as a mysterious cloaked and hooded figure, he definitely looks awesome which negates the trouble.

It's still important, Rodimus. And you should take it more seriously, who knows what situation you'll wind up in out there.

[ And Minimus won't be there to help... Honestly, that's the part that bothers him the most and there's definitely some concern breaking through the stern frown. ]

Nothing I can't handle. ( His optics narrow at that, and he stares Minimus down before smirking. ) You're concerned!

( Arms spread wide. Because really, who wouldn't want a piece of this. )

[ He's being serious, damn it!!! ] You'll be off world which means if something does happen, you won't have the same kind of back up you would here. You have to be more aware.

( His face scrunches up at that, optics narrowing. )

I don't want a lecture from you. ( That's not what he came here for, although he's not certain what he came here for in the first place. ) It'll be fine, you'll see.

[ His frown is mostly over ridden by concern now. ]

Just. Try to be careful. Please.

I'll be fine. Really. And whatever I can't manage, Cyclonus will.

( seriously have you seen him fight it's kind of awesomely terrifying. )

[ He's not entirely convinced, but there's nothing he can really do.

Pause and then:]

Well. Call me when you return so I know you've made it back in one peice at least.

[ he's shuffling data pads as he says that, not really looking at Rodimus.]

Keep it up and I'll start to think you're worried about me.

( Him personally. Not him 'prime in training' or 'citizen in trouble'. He doesn't say he won't call, however. )

I tend to feel personal attachments towards people I let sleep on my couch and give my personal contact number to. [ and yes, he can make that sound stern and official.]

( Of course he can, and Rodimus grins at that. )

You might be really uptight and overly concerned with rules, but you're not bad either.

[ His expression warms slightly for that, as bad of a compliment as it was. ]

Are you still going to make me give a reason for visiting?

( Seriously, Minimus. He doesn't need one - he's Rodimus. )

[ Did you seriously just come to visit him, Rodimus, he doesn't believe it. ]

I'm part of the legacy of Primus, I don't need a reason.

( WHAT IF HE DID. )

You can't use that as your excuse for everything, you know. There's more to you than just being part of the Primal lineage.

( That's what Nova tells him on a constant basis. )

( He knows who he is - Rodimus of Nyon, second in line for the Primacy. That's been who he is from the moment he was forged, from the moment Nova picked him out of his batch and said that one.

[ And it's only a little hypocritical for him to say that. ]

Do lectures just come naturally to you or something? ( ANNOYED HUFF. ) Not when it's my position.

What you bring to your position should be the most important thing.

No one would care if it wasn't for the position, so it's the most important thing. And I didn't come to get lectured, Minimus.

( He drops his relaxed posture, frown replacing the grin. )
