DON'T COUNT MISTAKES I LOST TRACK OF THEM
( He's in trouble. He's Rodimus, the younger of Nova's two candidates for Prime, and he is absolutely in trouble. It's not his fault. He just happened to be somewhere where trouble results, although okay - that part isn't new.
And he knows exactly how he got here in the first place, it's the same as it always is.
Orion frowns at him every time he leaves the Primal Basilica dressed in a cloak - knowing full well that he's going to go to those places that Nova finds unlawful and unruly. Sure, the other Prime in training had attempted to stop him before, to no avail. That makes something twinge in Rodimus because he likes Orion, he really does.
Then again, most people like Orion 'Super Cop, Future Prime' Pax. Because apparently some people like having a career that's pointless once you know you'll carry the Matrix. He guesses that has to do with Orion having spent some of his life from out of Nova's influence - maybe that made you like police work.
Not that Rodimus would know what that's like - Nova snatched him up two days after he was forged, as if he knew exactly where to find him. Must be a 'wisdom of the Matrix' thing. Find your replacements before someone else does and what not. But it boiled down to the fact that he'd never really got to know or experience life outside the basilica walls and for every time Nova told him he shouldn't or couldn't go out - he did.
Which is how he ends up standing over someone he punched into a wall - thanks Galvatron and Cyclonus for teaching him that one - inadvertently starting a bar fight that he is determined to win. Rodimus is pretty sure that as a mysterious cloaked and hooded figure, he definitely looks awesome which negates the trouble.
Mostly. )

( Take a moment to consider what 'family disputes' entails when Nova and Rodimus are involved, Minimus. )
no subject
I wouldn't assume the Primal Lineage would be any more straightforward than the House of Ambus.
no subject
Have you seen Nova talk? He goes on for hours, Minimus. At least your lectures eventually end.
no subject
Well, he is Prime. I'm sure your time will come.
[ He can picture Rodimus making the grandiose speeches he's seen Nova give. ]

no subject
It's a position with quite a bit of responsibility.
[ Just throwin' that out there. ]
no subject
That's what I'll have advisers for. Nova's got 'em, why should I change a system that works?
no subject
Advisers can only advise, Rodimus. The final decision still rest with Nova.
no subject
That's the appealing part.
( minus all the responsibility that goes with it. )
no subject
[ Can't stop won't stop. ]
no subject
( Now he knows why you don't have friends, Minimus. )
no subject
They go hand in hand quite a bit.
no subject
( HE'S NOT HERE FOR THIS. )
no subject
What would you like to talk about then?
no subject
I'm guessing you don't follow sports. Or much of anything.
no subject
Not a lot of time for it, no.
no subject
( He knows about the music. But it's more fun if he can get Minimus to admit to it. )
no subject
[ and he's been open enough about his private life for one day.]
no subject
( Is that admitting your a workaholic, Minimus? )
no subject
I'll admit to it freely. My work is important to me.
no subject
( But he's got an idea - jumping to his feet and grabbing one of Minimus's wrists. )
C'mon, we're going out. ( Rodimus isn't taking no for an answer, which is why he's practically dragging Minimus up out of his seat and into the hall. ) I'll tell the front desk it's by order of your Prime.
( And who's gonna call Nova to double check? )
no subject
What- I can't just leave! I still have filing!
no subject
( He's actually not so sure about that. It might. But he stops, turning to give Minimus his best smile. )
It'll be fun. Trust me.
no subject
I appreciate your concern, Rodimus, but I'm not sure I trust your definition of "fun."
no subject
( That's narrowing down his options, but he figures it's worth a shot. )
